League Schedule
League Format
Season Three of The Crypt is setup with four divisions of twelve teams and coaches:
The Twisted Catacombs
The Shadows Vault
The Thousand Spires
The Bone Labyrinth
Matches are arranged in a Round Robin format through the Blood Bowl 2 League tool and Match Weeks are announced in the Discord #league-schedule page every Friday and rolled over every Sunday morning as per the League Schedule posted above.
You are expected to tag your opponent in a message in your division room on my Discord server to schedule your match day and time. You can then either tag @ChrisFrosin or @LordJair in the arranged day and time or !create an event on the Discord bot.
Match Weeks are rolled over each Sunday morning so you have two possible ‘weekends’ to arrange your matches. The Sunday at the beginning of the match week and the Saturday at the end. We thought this was the best way to give as many people as possible as many days as possible to play. For instance if you’re away one weekend, there’s still another weekend to schedule to if weekday evenings are a challenge, too.
That is also why we post the following week’s match schedule on the Friday, to allow you time to arrange for the Sunday if needed.
The Crypt Discord has Match Day Stadium voice channels where you can stream your games and hangout with other coaches. We regularly have Blood Bowl evenings where a number of coaches hang out in the stadiums playing in to CCL after Crypt matches.
League Tables
(These will be updated league tables from Spike once the season starts)
Qualifying, Promotion and Relegation
This League Season is eleven weeks long with three weeks for the Relic competition at the end.
In the Vault, Spires and Labyrinth divisions, the top four teams will get promoted in to the division above (for instance if you finished third in Thousand Spires, you will get promoted to Shadows Vault for Season 5)
In the Catacombs, Vault and Spires divisions, the bottom four teams will be relegated to the division below (for instance if you finish eleventh in Twisted Catacombs, your team will play in Shadows Vault for Season 5)
League tables are drawn using the Blood Bowl 2 league tables with 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw.
After eleven weeks the top four teams in each division will also Qualify for the Relic competition - a 16 team knock out draw giving us a single winner of the Crypt Season 4. There is a poll live in my Discord for you to decide whether this Relic competition should be a Resurrection competition format or Regular league format to match the rest of the division matches.
League Rules
@ChrisFrosin and @LordJair run The Crypt, and their word is law.
We run The Crypt to be a fun and safe environment in which to play Blood Bowl, one of the best games Games Workshop have ever created. As such you have signed up to this League hopefully because of how enjoyable you have seen the matches in the previous seasons and the fun the coaches in those seasons were having. That is how we are running this league. Watching each others games in Discord, chatting with each other and learning from all the games that are played.
Please read these rules with this in mind. We don’t want to have to take action against anyone. Please don’t give us reason to.
We reserve the right to modify these rules as we see necessary and without warning. We will announce major changes.
Abuse of the rules by appealing to technicalities or wilfully misinterpreting the wording of this document will see you banned.
Successful matches
Coaches can validate their match after it has been played by clicking 'yes' in the dialogue after the match summary.
The result of a self-validated match is final.
If the coaches do not self-validate and no complaint is made, the match will be validated when the match week is rolled.
Interrupted matches
When a match is interrupted by a disconnect, crash, bug, or other circumstances and cannot be resumed, the coaches should attempt to reach an agreement to replay the match before the end of the MD. If required, they must both request a reset (via your Division Page in my Discord). A reset means the match is started completely anew.
If the coaches cannot agree to a rematch, for whatever reason, they must contact @ChrisFrosin or @LordJair. The admins will make a decision on how to deal with the situation based on the information available to them.
Unplayed matches
If no information on either of the coaches' scheduling is available, a 1-1 draw will be issued.
If both coaches offered acceptable scheduling windows but were still unable to find a time to play, a 1-1 draw will be issued.
When a match remains unplayed at the end of the MD and one of the coaches has failed to communicate availability in a timely manner, has offered a scheduling window that we deem insufficient or failed to show up to the scheduled match, their opposing coach will be issued a 2-1 win.
If one coach makes no effort at all to schedule, they will be issued a 0-2 concession.
Failing to play a Match to Completion
Every match has two coaches that have set aside time to play, and every coach deserves to play their match to completion. Please play your match to it’s entirity in the manner with which this league is run.
Legal concessions are allowed. This means that at the start of a drive, and only then, a coach may legally concede by quitting the match if they are unable to field at least three players.
If your match is cut short for reasons beyond your control, contact your opponent and admin team ASAP to explain what happened.
Coaches who choose to stop effectively playing the game, for instance ending turns prematurely, may be subject to admin scrutiny on a case-by-case basis. This is a grey area – there are many acceptable reasons for such behaviour in league Blood Bowl, and admins will take context into consideration. If a coach is deemed to have failed to play a match to completion without adequate justification, they will be treated as if they had chosen to quit the match.
Coaches who choose to quit a Crypt League match will likely be warned and could subsequently be banned.
Disputes
If there is a dispute regarding a match result or an unplayed match, contact @ChrisFrosin and @LordJair. We will make a decision that we deem fair based on the information available to us. Please note: When adjudicating disputes, we can only consider communication found in your Division pages in my Discord.
